What's Included in the Kit
  For $20 you'll receive the Stars inlay template that can be used to add a star to your project, be cut out as an ornament, or be placed in the center of a coaster. When building a coaster the Stars template is used in conjunction with the Crafters kit.

How to Build the Stars Decorative Inlay

Select and Prepare the Inlay Materials

  When selecting the inlay materials you want to keep a few things in mind. The first is contrast. You want the inlay to stand out against the backing material which is why we chose Maple as the ornament base material.

  You want the base material to be at least 1/4" thick but not more than 3/8". Much thicker than that and it will be difficult to cut out using the plunge router.

The following materials were used to build the Ruddy Christmas Ornament

    * Old Growth Redwood 4" x 4" x 1/8" - Face and Ear
    * Bacote 2" x 2" x 1/8" - Antlers

    * Lacewood 3" x 2" x 1/8" - Muzzle
    * Wenge 2" x 2" x 1/8" - Inner Eye
    * Pine 2" x 2" x 1/8" - Outer Eye
